Be Positive!

This is the best advice that I can give to those who just found out that they are HIV positive, those who have AIDS and to those who are living the "journey". I know at first it is hard but like me, I found a way out of the tunnel. I found light at the end of the well. I struggled to get out of the rut fast.

1. Stay positive. You alone can help yourself. You need to fight back.
2. Stay positive. Help yourself to gain strength. Eat and exercise. Have a healthy lifestyle.
3. Stay positive. Your family and friends love you. They are also your strength and they won't abandon you. You struggle with them but you also work hard for them to be healthy once again.
4. Stay positive. There are people wh are willing to listen and won't condone you or your previous actions.
5. Stay positive. There is hope. There is no cure but there is treatment. You too will be well soon and will function as normal as before.
6. Stay positive. Our disease is not a death sentence anymore. You can have maintenance meds we all know as ARV's. They will be your new 'vitamins'.
7. Stay positive. There are a lot of competent hospitals (hubs) and doctors who are willing to help you.
8. Stay positive. Your health is a priority now. Be cautious all the time. Learn about opportunistic infections and how you can stay away from them.
9. Stay positive. Wisdom comes from learning from what other people have experienced. Our local network over the internet is a vast encyclopedia of knowledge.
10. Stay positive. Keep on reading articles about HIV/AIDS. Watch videos from youtube to educate yourself.
11. Stay positive. Do what your doctor tells you to do. Report everything.
12. Stay positive. The ARV's are free in the country for us. PhilHealth can finance our succeeding lab tests. Doctor's consultations are free in all hubs.
13. Stay positive. Don't be scared about the ARV's and their side effects. You can overcome them.
14. Stay positive. Don't worry that you have a low CD4 count. Some people even have lower counts than you. By fighting back and taking the ARV's you will make it go up once again.
15. Stay positive. It will take time to recover but with your renewed strength and knowledge, you are by far more stronger than ever before!
16. Stay positive. Be happy. Our own inner peace can help us recover fast!
