Many of us knew about how HIV is being transmitted from one person to another and yet many still get infected. According to the Philippine DOH-NEC HIV/AIDS Registry for September 2012, there were 316 new cases of HIV seropositive. This is 44 cases higher than in August 2012 and 25% higher compared to the same period last year. This is the highest ever recorded in 3 decades. When everybody thought that it would soon plateau, the cases are still increasing at an alarming rate.
I believe that education is a continuous process and we should all continue repeating what we know so that the knowledge can become part of us. It is also applicable to the basics of HIV. We have to keep on repeating it over and over again. Once is not enough. We all have to discuss it. We all have to talk about it. We all have to give opinions about it. We all have to be able to share it.
So once again, let us start from the very basics of HIV.
