New Year, Better Life

I know that you got an HIV test and the result just came out positive. I understand what you are feeling and I understand that there are a lot of things that are bothering you. Questions like, "what will do now?", "should I tell them?", "what will happen to my future?", etc. will come up. You feel that the whole world just came crushing down on you.

Like the new year, it is time to brush off the dirt from your feet and start standing up and focusing on the road ahead. 2012 is gone and 2013 is here now. Forget what happened before, just learn from it and start focusing on what you need to do now and the days and months to come.

Today, have an affirmation on the following points:

1. There is life even with HIV.
2. You have a future even if you have HIV.
3. In the Philippines, the HIV medicines are FREE
4. There are HIV/AIDS Treatment hubs that are ready to serve you.
5. There are good HIV doctors in the country.
6. You will live long if you follow your doctors.
7. You will live long if you will have a healthy lifestyle.
8. Treat HIV as like you just have hypertension or diabetes wherein you need to take maintenance meds everyday.
9. There are thousands in the country with HIV who are living their lives productively
10. You are not alone with your struggle with HIV.

Life is full of challenges. Life is full of turns. Now, right in front of you, life is challenging you. Either you deal with it or ignore it. Either you stay alive by living a healthy lifestyle or be another one of the few cases per month who allowed to be weakened by the virus. It is your call.

It is a new year. 2012 has left us. The past is gone and we can't make it come back anymore. It is up to you to start living your life again. It is up to you to make your health rebound again. It is up to you to turn things for a better life!
