Good Evening..

Sir Pozzie, I would like to ask if you will take the medicines, the symptoms will also disappear? Like the white spots on the tongue and the lines on the nails? Sir I’m planning to go back to the Philippines at the end of June to take the test.

Thanks and God bless.

POZZIEPINOY'S RESPONSE

Hi there.

Thank you for your email.

If you are talking about the ARV's or the HIV medicines, they will not address the treatment of the other infections but will address directly the HIV. The ARV's will tame down the HIV so that in turn it will not continue to wreck havoc to one's immune system. By doing this, one's immune system can recover again. In the case of the opportunistic infections that you mentioned (white film on the tongue and or lines on the nails), they will be addressed by other medicines. Treatment for HIV and other infections that have been brought about by the weakened immune system can be done simultaneously. Also, HIV treatment is free in the Philippines while treatment for opportunistic infections is not. But bear in mind that once your other infections have been contained and the immune system has been strengthened once again by the ARV's, there is minimal chance that the opportunistic infections will recur again.

I hope I was able to answer your concerns. Feel free to email me again if you have other concerns.

Stay healthy,
Pozziepinoy
