Email 402: About Kissing


Dear Pozziepinoy,

i have hiv for example and i made sex with a guy who is "negative" in hiv, i had my precum and i wipe it out and then he licked or kissed or do oral sex with my penis. is it possible for him acquire hiv? is kissing a guy can transmit hiv if you're hiv positive?

Thank you for your email and for sharing your concern.

Oral sex won't transmit the virus unless there's is an open wound inside the mouth. Open mouth sores, gum problems can but is very low risk still since there is saliva which acts as a barrier. Kissing per se won't transmit the virus.
