POZZIEPINOY'S RESPONSE

Hi XXX.

Thank you for your email.

Regarding your question, I asked two resource persons.

According to Lean Mogol, the Medical Technologist from the RITM Satellite Clinic, there are no more anonymous HIV testing in the country. He said that when the country had it before,  the statistics would double up since the anonymous people who used pseudonames who tested positive, need to repeat the test or else they won't get the benefits of PhilHealth's OHAT package. He said that we only have confidential HIV Testing now and the person has to disclose everything prior to HIV testing with the knowledge that everything in the HIV test form and the entire process of HIV Testing will be confidential.

According to Humphrey Gorriceta, the renowned PLHIV who helped put a face to the HIV in the Philippines, who currently has projects with the National Epidemiology Center of the Department of Health, "there are no more anonymous HIV testing but only confidential HIV Testing since the new HIV cases are going high and the prevention and control program wants to be able to reach them and monitor those who need monitoring, thus we don't encourage anonymity anymore."

I hope I was able to answer your concerns. Feel free to email me again if you have other questions.

Stay healthy,
Pozziepinoy
