Email 215: About Possible Anal Wart

Hi Pozzie and Contributors.

I tested positive last year in November and have been on ARVs since. I didn't have any other infections and my recovery started quickly.

This week, I noticed it was a bit hard passing stool and when I checked last night I noticed a possible wart down my backdoor. Is this something the treatment hubs can take care of or should I see a different doctor? My treatment hub is RITM.

Hope you can provide some direction.

POZZIEPINOY’S RESPONSE

Hi XXX.

Thank you for your email.

Regarding your question, first, go to your treatment hub and have it checked by your HIV doctor. If he or she thinks that you need to see another specialist for it, then just follow what he or she tells you to do. The key to your treatment is your partnership with your HIV doctor and no matter what there should be an agreed decision between both of you.

I hope I was able to answer your concerns. Feel free to email me again if you have other questions.

Stay healthy,
Pozziepinoy
