Email 390: Are These the Symptoms?

Hi pozzie,

Good day. How likely is it to consider a swollen lymph node in the neck, just under the jaw for acute hiv infection or ARS? The lymph node is almost a month now and there are no other symptoms like muscle pains, night sweats, influenze-like illness, etc.

Looking forward to your favorable reply.

Thank you.

bb

POZZIEPINOY’S RESPONSE

Hi bb.

Thank you for your email.

Acute HIV infection happens a few days post infection. If it goes beyond weeks then it is not acute anymore. Always remember that after the acute HIV infection, there won't be any specific HIV symptoms as there are really none.

If I were you, just take the HIV test. That is the only way to find out if you have HIV or not. We all should not focus on the symptoms that we may be experiencing as HIV can't be diagnosed based on the symptoms, whatever they may be.

I hope I was able to answer your concerns. Feel free to email me again if you have other questions.

Stay healthy,
Pozziepinoy
