Email 395: You Know What to Do!

Hi pozzie,

Now i'm confused. I read one article on your blog about ARV or acute HIV symptoms and another article of yours (just posted today) telling that some symptoms like cold, flu, swollen lypmh node, etc. do not equate of having HIV. So, when are we going to consider the acute HIV symptoms? Are they still reliable/helpful?

Email 394: Low Risk and Anxiety

Good day Pozzie.

I have been very troubled lately. Last July I tried something new and I decided to join a gay dating site. I chatted with people there but I don't do meet-ups 'coz I know how risky it is. But then one day I chatted with someone whom I think is decent and professional enough for me to at least give the guy I chance. We decided to have a meet-up. He was nice and charming. I didn't expect to someone like that on a dating site. We became really good friends. Then one night, out of lust I guess, we did it.

The oral sex was unprotected and the anal ( I was the bottom ) was protected. He even fingered me. I promised myself that it will not happen again but we did again.. twice. The second one was only mutual masturbation and he fingered me again. The third one was another unprotected oral sex.

Get Tested and Get Treatment!

Lately, The Red Ribbon Care Management Program has been assisting clients who are either, one, late diagnosed or second, got diagnosed years ago but didn't get treatment at once. In both scenarios, the PLHIV's already have opportunistic infections associated with AIDS which are harder to treat and financially draining.

This is not to scare anybody, but please GET TESTED EARLY and GET TREATMENT EARLY when you get diagnosed. HIV can be "tamed" early with early intervention. HIV Treatment is FREE but by having these HIV related infections caused by the weakening of the immune system, the expenses may be overwhelming and maybe financially draining to both you and your loved ones.

Email 391: About PEP

Hi Pozzie,

I was just wondering if RITM (or any other HIV-related institution) is giving out post exposure prophylaxis (PEP) for those who people who might have been exposed to HIV within 72 hours. Is there a way that these institutions could give out PEPs (to arrest the spread of virus)?

Thank you and more power to your blog!

Thanks
