Get Tested Now!

What's stopping you from taking the HIV Test?

1. "People will judge me!"

The HIV testing centers' staff are professional. They are trained to give out the test and not to judge anybody. Of course there will be some who would be judgemental, as the world is not perfect. But who cares? Take the test, get the result and leave the facility. You won't see them again anyways.

Is it important what others will think of you? Will it kill you if others may judge (or even look at you)  as "dirty", "promiscuous", type cast you as gay or "MSM", etc. etc.

What is important is what you think of yourself. You need to be in control of your health and that is the most important thing. You need to be in control of your life and others' perception of you doesn't matter, at all.

2. "What if the result is POSITIVE?"

It is better to know early on than be sorry. One, you can get treatment fast. Second, you won't regret later on that you have been a carrier without you knowing it and may have passed it to others.

Some people because of fear, gets tested late, which results to being sick from opportunistic infections or AIDS related illnesses. Because of their fear to know through the HIV test, they already have pneumonia, tuberculosis, meningitis, skin diseases, eye problems or gastro intestinal issues when they seek treatment. Some are already in their death beds before even taking the HIV test.

Denial is a killer. I, for one had unprotected sex before and didn't get tested until I was already bed ridden from bi-basal pneumonia plus pneumocystis pneumonia. I was already suffering, couldn't walk for more than 2 meters without catching my breath. I had continuous diarrhea and on and off fever for one month. Yet, I ignored these symptoms. I almost died, but I continued to deny it until my doctor told me that I needed to take the HIV test right there in my hospital room.

Signs and Symptoms of HIV

Good evening po, ano po ang mga sintomas ng HIV? Magkano po ang pagpapatest? thank you

POZZIEPINOY’S RESPONSE

Hi there.

Thank you for your email. Thank you for finding and reading the blog.

Now to answer your questions, first, HIV has non specific symptoms. Initially after the unprotected sex or other means of transmission, there will be flu like symptoms which will last for a week, after which there no symptoms will be observed by anyone. This period of no symptoms may last from 5 years to 10 years depending on how the immune system of the body reacts to the virus or how aggressive the strain of the virus is in replicating.

False Positive

hi good day..

I got tested (screened) for HIV last Oct 29,2014 and it turned out na nag
react ako sa screening test...my last exposure to unprotected sex was mga
1st or 2nd quarter last year (2013). Inadvice ako nila na to take the ELISA
and Western Blot test ( which was sent to San Lazaro)... a month after

Stressed!

Hello

Thank you for reading this message. Anyway i am just a bit anxious. And probably i just need some reassurance.

My stress began 1st week of september 2014. I went to the famous "spakol" spots. Anyway that day after the thera gave me a massage it was time for the ES. She gave me oral and i gave her oral sex also. I did. Ot have a condom so i we did not perform penetrative sex. I returned a week later but I think she had her period.  We used a condom. Then condom did not break but the sight of blood was a bit graphic.

Is the 2 Month-Window Period Enough?

Mr. Pozzie. I hope you don't mind if I ask. Is a 2-months window period non-reactive result may give me at least 70% assurance that I do not have HIV? Or in your own opinion how many percent of assurance does this 2-months Test prove? Cause as I've red in your older statements. Rapid test right now are all in 4th Generation and can detect even a minimal amount of antibodies even if it's just a-month that is passed by. Is that for real sir? By the way Sir I got tested from Hi-precision laboratories. Their facilities are quite impressing And, I hope so that this also reflects with their laboratory instruments. Thanks Sir!

Symptoms During Window Period?

Sir gusto ko lang po sana itanong. Kailangan po ba magkaroon ka ng kahit isa sa symptoms sa loob ng window period bago mo masabi na maaaring positive ka sa hiv? Salamat po.

TRANSLATION

Sir, I would like to ask something. Does it need to have at least one symptom in the window period for your to be positive for HIV? Thank you.

One Strike!

Hello!

I'm 20yo. I got sick last June and I suspect that I have contracted the virus due to unprotected sex I had 12 days prior to being hospitalized (which was actually my first ever sex... talk about bad luck). I'm really scared that this could be it. The doctor suspects it to but suggested to take the test again after 3 months since I tested negative at the hospital.

My 3 month window period ends on September 1st week and I'm planning to be tested again on one of those days. Just in case I turn out positive (since I have already cried for a month about it and have fully accepted it na), is it ok to have my baseline tests at RITM-ARG but submit myself to another hospital for the actual treatment?

Thank you.

I was a fool but isn't this too unfair? to be hit on my first.

Email 527: Anxious with the HIV Result

Hi pozzie!

Can you enlighten me on this one?

Nagpatest kasi ako sa RITM 6 weeks after exposure (oral sex exposure lang) and it was non-reactive. Pero ngayon. after 4 months. napansin ko biglang pumapayat ata ako. I do not know if this is stress-induced (lack of sleep, stress) or sa maling test results. I am panicking right now...again.

Email 523: On Oral Sex

Hello pozziepinoy.

Im Don, so its been almost 4 months since I had sex with a man I met online. We just did oral and didn't let ourselves be exposed in each other's cum. So just this week (after 4 months of doing that), I discovered a white penile discharge. I immediately went to a doctor and they diagnosed me with a UTI. I immediately felt better after 24 hours of medication (no penile discharge). Its my second day of medication
today and I am almost perfectly fine. Do you think that I have HIV? I saw a lot of articles in the net saying that the presence of HIV can induce UTI. Internet articles also stated that
it is rare for young men to have UTI. I am so paranoid now. I don't want to have HIV. Thanks for the reply.

Don

My HIV Test Experience

Dear Mr.Pozziepinoy,

I had my hiv-test done yesterday 24March 2014 at RITM Satellite Clinic, I'm the guy from the middle east asking for your assistance with the E-mail story of 454, finally hinarap ko na rin ang FEAR ko...I just came from XXX last 23May, My original plan is to be tested that same day pero I decided to take a rest muna, saka parang natatakot na ako I went to the nearest church kung san ako nag-stay ngayn, I pray hard and ask for forgiveness, asking our Lord God for a miracle kasi alam mo sa sarili mo na may ginawa ka(unprotected sex), na may possibility na ma-infect ka.
