On RITM-ARG CD4 Test

Hi there,

Good day! First and foremost, I would like to thank Project Red Ribbon in behalf of all the HIV postive here in the Philippines. The devotion you have showed to people living with HIV is unparalleled.

I have been positive since November 2013, since I have received my false positive result. I have officially been diagnosed last February 2014. My treatment hub is at Klinika Bernardo in Cubao QC.  I have been taking my ARVs since then, namely Lamivudine-Zidovudine and Effavirenz. Thank God I have already get used to the effects of Effavirenz. The road wasn't easy, but I have learned to live with this condition and taking things positively.

Email 505: "Immunocompromised" and Life Expectancy

Hi, Pozziepinoy!

Just want to ask something. If a poz started his ARV's above CD4 of 300, never had any infectious diseases, is complete with his vaccinations, no hepatitis, regularly exercises, no vices, eats right, gets enough sleep and now has undetectable virus load and a CD4 of 700+, can he still be considered immunocompromised? And regarding the life expectancy of a Filipino poz under treatment, do you have any info about this? What's the age of the longest living Filipino poz so far?

Positively Positve,
Squidmarked

Good day,

Is the CD4 Count in RITM-ARG still free? Is it free regardless if I am a PhilHealth member or not or if I'm from other treatment hubs?

Thank you for your response.

Email 473: HIV Questions!

Hey,

Thank you for the blog.

Please forgive me for my questions I might be asking too much.

I got my test last week through makati med and unfortunately this time the results took longer. They did not tell me that its for the confirmation test or western blot but I am taking it as it is. So I am just waiting for them to call me to officially pronounce me as the walking dead. 😄 sorry too much TV. I am not depressed but no matter how much I condition myself I still fear why is coming.

Email 410: Free CD4 Test in RITM-ARG?

hi,

im here to ask something, last april 2013, when all my requirements going abroad is ready, suddenly my HIV test became reactive..
the test was from san lazaro hospital (DOH) . im planning to have a cd4 test at ritm alabang, with my results in the said hospital, am i valuable to have a free cd4 test?

thank you so much

POZZIEPINOY’S RESPONSE

Hi there.

Thank you for your email.

With your confirmatory test result, you can be enrolled in any hub. If you want free lab tests including the CD4 test, you need to enrol in RITM and subject yourself with the different tests there. If you are enrolled in other hubs, you won't qualify for the free CD4 test in RITM-ARG.

I hope I was able to answer your concerns. Feel free to email me again if you have other questions.

Stay healthy,
Pozziepinoy

Email 700: CD4 Test in RITM-ARG

Hi Pozziepinoy,

I just have few inquiries regarding RITM-ARG. Do I need to pay for my CD4 checking (lab tests). I had my last check up last January, and base sa diniscuss sakin last time, I need to pay 3k just to have the succeeding lab exam (CD4 monitoring) but nabasa ko somewhere in your blog na ginawa na nilang free yung checking ng cd4 cells kahit hindi ka pa nag ARVs. I hope you could enlighten me on this one.. Ayoko kasing masayang yung pagpunta ko sa hub tapos hindi pala ako makakapag pa lab exam.

Thank you very much.

Email 674: CD4 in RITM-ARG

Hi!

Good morning.

Do we have CD4 Test Count done every weekend at RITG-ARG? I still don't have my comfirmatory result yet, but my doctor gave me a slip/recommendation. Apparently, I can't afford the cost of it at Medical City. How much will I pay if I have thru RITM? Will the recommendation of my doctor be enough for me to avail of the test or are there any other documents that I have to present? What time can I go there for the test if ever?
I haven't enrolled myself yet at the Hub since I haven't talked to my doctor yet and request for transfer but that's what I am planning to do. For the time being, I just need to have the test done so that I can start taking ARV for faster recovery. Hope you'll be able to assist me with my concern.

Appreciate your help towards us who are in need.

Thank you and more power!

Email 486: Manila HIV and AIDS Treatment Hubs

Hi,

Thanks for answering my first inquiry. I would like to ask some more questions:

1. I plan to get a second opinion, is that advisable?

2. Is there any other place where I can take the CD4 test and other tests aside from RITM Alabang? Do they have like a branch or satellite office where I can take the test? (I'm from the province up north that is why its a big obstacle for me to be there before 7AM).

Thanks and more power,
M

Email 485: Confused New PLHIV

Hi,

I live in the Philippines and I was referred to RITM Alabang for CD4 examination and other test. I would
just like to know:

1. When are they open? (day and time they can accommodate me)
2. How long does the test(s) take?
3. Is the CD4 test for free? If not, how much does it cost?
4. Are the other test for free? if not, how much does it cost per test?

Hope you can help me as I'm a bit confused right now.

Thanks!
M
