  • TRR LOVE FUND

    TRR Love Fund is the arm of the foundation which provides medical assistance to the financially challenged PLHIV.

  • Care assistance for HIV Test

    The Care Assistant Program involves assistance to HIV testing and HIV and AIDS Treatment hubs in the Philippines. Our volunteers schedule the client to the clinic or hub, assist with the procedure in the clinic or hub and conduct peer counseling

  • HOTLINE ASSISTANCE

    With the TRR Hotline Numbers, our volunteers answer concerns and inquiries about HIV and AIDS, do counselling, refers clients to nearest HIV Testing facility, HIV and AIDS Treatment Hub and government and NGO organizations for support

  • PEER COUNSELING

    The foundation volunteers conduct one-on-one counseling either on the phone or in person. They also conduct group counseling

  • SUPPORT GROUP TALK

    The support group talk (SGT) is a program that involves giving HIV lectures by guest speakers, discuss topics about HIV, care, treatment and support, discussion issues related to HIV

  • OUTREACH PROGRAM

    The foundation's outreach program is geared towards providing support to our fellow PLHIV's in the HIV and AIDS Treatment Hubs. Volunteers hand out of donations of medicines and special gifts to PLHIV, give inspirational talks by invited guests to a group of PLHIV, bonding over snacks or meal, visit the sick who are confined in the hospital

  • Referral System

    As part of treatment, the foundation's referral program involves our volunteers referring clients to specialized doctors who are HIV friendly. The foundation has it's own list of specialty doctors of low cost for the indigent PLHIV.

  • Online Support Group

    The foundation has a private Online Support Group in facebook. This group of advocates, supporters, counselors, health Workers and PLHIV

  • Home Health

    Aside from client counselling, the foundation volunteers also do family counselling and home visitation for awareness and continuance of care.

  • Health Fitness

    The foundation believes in holistic approach to treatment and care, thus inclusion of these programs: yoga, dance, swimming, jogging and running, boot camp workouts

  • EVENTS

    As part of awareness and education program, the foundation organizes its own national events to coincide with the international AIDS events: World AIDS Day and International AIDS Candlelight Memorial

PLHIV Story: How the SET Changed My Life



Good day Mr. Pozziepinoy!!

I would like to share lang my HIV st0ry.hehe. Please call me na lang 'dre', i was diagn0sed as hiv  last march 3, 2013 sa ritm satellite clinic, at first i was s0 paran0id, depressed, iyak ng iyak..although i knew it already na it is p0ssible na mgng positive ung result because of being sexually active.. Akala k0 madali ko na lang sya matatanggap, ang hirap pala,ang daming pumapasok sa isip mu, gul0ng gulo ak0 nun time na yun.pero kailangan k0 mag m0ve 0n kaya pri0r to the day i was diagn0sed, i went to ritm-arg just t0 take up my baseline test...i felt nervous kasi it was my perstym dun.,naging 0k naman lahat, pero blanko pa din ak0, buti na lang anjan ung nag c0uncil sa akn at ginagabayan nya ak0...after 4 hrs. Dr. Ditangco talked to me about myself, nag kwento ak0 s knya about sa buhay k0 bago nya sinabi sa akin yung cd4 counts which is n0t t0 low, n0t t0 high,.nasa sa akin daw if mag start na ba ak0 nang arv treatment, which is sinabi k0 na hindi k0
pa alam...that time kc natatakot ak0 s mga naririnig k0 about the side effects of taking up arv.. Bef0re ak0 umuwi nun ive heard kc ab0ut SELF EMPOWERMENT TRAINING.. and i asked kuya b0bby if i can join..he did n0t refused naman...

About the Self Empowerment Training (SET)


The Self Empowerment Training (SET) Program of the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine - AIDS Research Group (RITM-ARG) is based on the premise that the PLHIV’s have to be empowered to improve and or maintain their health by adopting a range of behaviors towards themselves, to family and society, to medications, to their health care providers and to the entire treatment process.

Knowledge is power! That is what everybody says.

This is true. All of us need to be empowered so that we can easily deal with HIV and AIDS. We all need to learn by getting information and listening to get the wisdom of other people. Information and wisdom from others can equip us with all the right tools in accepting and dealing with HIV and AIDS.

"Spiderman's Fight"


Ate Beth of RITM-ARG, two weeks ago texted me about the 28 year old, unemployed "Spiderman". She told me about this new patient who went to RITM-ARG, who was referred by a Self Empowerment Training (SET) participant. She met him in the clinic, with body rashes and blurred vision. Ate Beth said that her chest tightened up when he saw him being assisted by his 70 year old aunt as he had no other relatives to assist him.

Help The Needy!

Last night, Ate Beth (one of the good hearted RITM-ARG staff) texted me and she asked if we can help a PLHIV who has visual problems and has visible skin diseases. She told me that the patient was accompanied in RITM by his 70 year old aunt.

When he told her his story, of how PGH didn't admit him and how a poz friend who previously attended the Self Empowerment Training (SET) conducted by RITM, recommended RITM for him to ask for help, Ate Beth said it really broke her heart. Unfortunately, the PLHIV got scared to be confined as he has no job and with unupdated PhilHealth. The doctor who checked him out said that the cost of his medicines would reach P9,000 per day. Scared about his bills, without asking anybody, he and his aunt left the hospital.
