Philippine HIV and AIDS Registry: March 2017 Report

In the HIV/AIDS and ART Registry of the Philippines of the Department of Health- Epidemiology Bureau, there were 968 new HIV cases in the country in March 2017. This is a record-high number since 1984. The highest cases were recorded in the National Capital Region, Region IVA and Region III. The modes of transmission were unprotected sex, needle sharing among drug users and mother-to-child transmission.

To date since 1984, there are 42,283 cases reported. 2,124 Filipinos had already died of AIDS.
