Good Evening.

I just want to ask if the manila social hygiene clinic was using a 4th generation hiv kit? since parang affiliated kayo. 29th day post exposure na po ako tapos negative siya. tho mag papatest pa din ako. I know medjo repetitive un question ko. Para lang mawala un anxiety or mabawasan ng konti haha. Should i get tested in 3 months which 90 days or 12 weeks, 84 days medjo naguguluhan kasi ako.

I Just want to ask if Manila Social Hygiene is using 4th generation HIV kit? Since it seems that you are affiliated. On my 29th day post exposure, and my test turned out to be negative, though I would still take the test. I know  this is already repetitive, but I just want to lessen my anxiety even a bit. Should I get tested in 3 months which is 90 days or 12 weeks, 84 days. I’m just a bitt confused.

POZZIEPINOY’S RESPONSE

Hi XXX,

First of all, thank you for your question.

Manila Social Hygiene uses 4th generation test kits already. The rule of thumb of the Departrment of Health is 6 weeks of window period, but most still advice a 12 weeks window period. In your case, it is best to just retake it 3 months post exposure. For the meantime, while waiting, always wear a condom while having sex. It is best to protect yourself as well as others. It is best to stop the spread of HIV through us. With your knowledge from the pre- and post-counselling, I know you will be ok.

Once again, thank you for your question and shoot us again with other questions if you are still bothered by anything.
