Acting FAST with Partnerships

In September 2016, Project Red Ribbon visited Cebu to meet Bisdak Pride, Inc., a large LGBTQIA organization, that has a reach all around Visayas Region, with its 39 partner organizations. In Cebu City, they have a Catholic Mass Media Awarded Radio Station, which we visited first hand. During our brief meeting, they expressed their desire to get trainings so they can do their counseling, HIV screening and HEATS (HIV Education, Awareness, Testimonial and Screening).
During our second meeting, we brought our partner, the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine - AIDS Research Group to meet Bisdak and their partner, the Visayas Community Medical Center. During the consultation, we visited the hospital's community center. During a meeting that lasted for an hour, we proposed trainings, discussed the importance of the community center and making VCMC a treatment hub.
This January 2017, the training of Bisdak, Inc. volunteers started. The training will be conducted for 3 months under the RITM-ARG.
Project Red Ribbon's Trainings empower different LGBTQIA, faith-based organizations, local government units, companies and other non-government organizations to have their own HIV programs. Our trainings cover counselor's trainings, peer counselor's training, HEATS training, Support Group Talk Training and HIV Screening Trainings. We also train best practice HIV programs for replication.
We have work to do and we have to do it fast. We can't do it alone. We need you!

If you want to join a private HIV support group in Facebook, please add Darwin Tenoria, the TRR Program Director and request to be added in the group. We have a lot of PLHIV, counselors, HIV doctors, advocates and supporters who you can talk to.
