Email 419: Do I Need A Retest?

Hi pozzie,

I email you before that i was engaged my first sexual intercourse last July 2012 but its totally protected sex. We did Oral sex and Finger stimulation protected his finger by condom he attempted anal sex but i cant. I dont have any sexual engagement for almost one year until now. I was tested HIV @ SAGIP PGH after 6 weeks of exposure before and it turns out Non Reactive 0.3 result because i experienced flu like, and strange feeling. The counselor there told me that i will not undergo for the hiv test again. Now im so paranoid of thinking that i might be infected the virus, i got dry cough, clugged nose, swollen lympnodes  behind my ears but its not painful & feeling shortness breaths now. Do i repeat the test? Any recommendation for testing center? Just wanna ask if SAGIP has a machine to revealed the result for an hour coz before i wait 5 -7 days for the result. Pls help me.

Email 689: Need the Xray and Sputum Tests for SAGIP

Hi pozzie,

Thank you sa sagot mo last time. May next question pa ako. Galing ako sa PGH last Monday dala yung mga documents ko however tinanong ng nurse sa SAGIP kung nasaan na yung XRAY and sputum test results galing RITM-ARG. Sabi ko hindi po binigay ng mga taga RITM sonsinabi nila na kunin ko daw and binigyan nila ako ng bago lab test (crea, bun, urinalysis, fecalysis, etc..)

Tanong ko lang pozzie kung may idea ka ba kung paano maclaim yung xray and  
sputum results ko and required pa ba yung orange card para maclaim yun?  
Nawala ko na kasi yung orang card ko.

Email 640: PGH-SAGIP as Hub of Choice

Hi,

2 months ako nadiagnose ako na HIV+. Until now hindi pa din ako pumupunta sa RITM dahil sa work ko and sobrang layo sa totoo lang naiisip ko from NORTH to SOUTH ng Metro.Gusto ko na talaga malaman ang CD4 ko. Tanong  ko lang pozzie kung pwede sa PGH-Sagip na lang ako pumunta ipakita ko yung results ng test ko galing sa RITM satellite clinic?

My treatment hub is in SLH. but recently, I finally made up my mind na lumipat ng PGH- SAGIP as my treatment hub. Hesitant kasi ako dati kasi I'm working and baka madaming requirements. Matagal ko ng gustong lumipat kasi di ako komportable sa doctor ko sa SLH (Dr XXX). Sobrang grumpy and moody nya kasi. I am a newly diagnosed PLHIV. I was shocked that I cannot move on when I first heard it but, because of this site and RITM Satellite Clinic in Malate where advise was given to me, I was able to move on and face the reality.  I am enrolled right now in RITM-ARG in Alabang and somehow happy to say that I am not yet under HAART because my CD4 count is 555.

Hi XXX,

Thank you for your email.

Like what I always advice to people, chose an HIV/AIDS treatment hub that is near you so accessibility to lab tests and medicines are easier. If you are in Manila area, best to go to San Lazaro Hospital or PGH-SAGIP. If you are from the south, go to RITM-ARG. However, if you opt to go to RITM-ARG, I can assist you. The staff there are so friendly and professional.

On your second question, you don't need to be admitted to a hospital if you are about to take ARV's. Once you have been prescribed with the medicines, you will be sent home and you will be adviced to observe for 2 weeks for possible side effects. This is what they call the trial period of ARV prescription.
