Accuracy of the HIV Test?

POZZIEPINOY’S RESPONSE
Hi there.
Thank you for your email. Thank you for reading the blog.
The rule of thumb is get tested at 3 months and get tested again at 6 months post exposure. Usually we encourage early testing as HIV antibodies can also be detected even earlier that 3 months. However, if the result turns out negative, just repeat the test again at 6 months to give ample time for antibodies to be formed just in case there was indeed transmission of the virus.
I hope I was able to answer your concerns. Feel free to email me again if you have other questions.
Stay healthy,
Pozziepinoy
