POZZIEPINOY’S RESPONSE

Hi there.

Thank you for your email. Thank you for finding the blog.

Let me answer your questions in the order that you asked them.

First, the confirmatory HIV test result comes out usually 2 weeks in Metro Manila. In the province, it may take up to 1 month for it to be released.

Second, only the HIV test will determine if the person is HIV positive or not. However, if the CD4 test is very low, you may get a consultation fast with an infectious disease doctor to rule out other diseases or for the doctor to assess the current health status of the patient. These are the things you should be doing now, while still waiting for the confirmatory HIV test result. The ID doctor may also tell you the root cause of the rashes and the weight loss of the patient.

I hope I was able to answer your concerns. Feel free to email me again if you have other questions.

Stay healthy,
