Want to attend a
Support Group Meeting?

HIV Management?

Want to Listen to other
People with HIV?

Look no further!

The Project Red Ribbon Care Management Program (TRR) has meetings or Support Group Talks (SGT) on a weekly basis in Metro Manila area (soon in other regions in the Philippines). These meetings empower persons living with HIV (PLHIV) about HIV treatment, about ARV management, on PhilHealth process and concerns, on protocols of HIV and AIDS Treatment Hubs, on support systems, on disclosure and HIV in the workplace, etc. These meetings address concerns by participants during the question and answer part of the meeting. We also invite resource persons to talk about specific topics related to HIV.

The TRR Support Group Talks are divided into 3:

1. SGT for New PLHIV Orientation (SGT-NPO).

This SGT provides a venue for group counselling, with setting up expectations on HIV Management, ARV Adherence and Compliance, Understanding PhilHealth's OHAT Package, Monitoring of Side Effects, etc. This is open to all PLHIV's including support system, that is, families and friends.

2. SGT for Couples

This SGT provides a venue for couple counselling, setting up expectations,

3. SGT for Family and Friends

This SGT is made for families and friends of PLHIV to gather around and understand the HIV spectrum and discuss possible ways of strengthening a PLHIV support system.

4. SGT Advanced

In this type of SGT, TRR invites guest speakers and lecturers who will discuss specific HIV related topics. This advanced meeting merges the newly diagnosed PLHIV's who have attended the SGT-NPO and Couples SGT. PLHIV family members and friends, as well as HIv advocates may participate in this meeting.

If you think you would benefit from a support group meeting, please join us. You may contact our TRR Hotline Numbers if you have question or if you want to know the schedules of the group meetings.

My HIV Test Experience: Be Responsible and Get Tested!

Good day Pozziepinoy,

Let me share my whole HIV test experience. It's almost a year and a half  since my last unprotected sex. Hindi ako nag patest ng ganun katagal. Imagine yung anxiety attacks ko every day from that 1 year. Especially when you read thru the internet mga information about HIV lalo na mga signs and symptoms. Pero HIV is a viral infection so grabe yung anxiety ko nun, na depress ako.

My PLHIV Story: Late Diagnosis, I Survived! Part 2

Around 9PM when we arrived sa isang malaking public hospital sa Davao.
Almost 6 hours kaming nag stay sa ER, pahirapan talaga doon and admission process at buti nalang my mga kakilala kami. Due to my condition, sa IM - ICU sana ako ilalagay, but hindi pumayag brother ko baka mahawaan lang kami don. So they decided to have an ICU setting in a private room.

Nag thumbs up lang ako kasi I cannot speak.

My PLHIV Story: Late Diagnosis, I Survived! Part 1

Maayong Adlaw! (Good day!)  I’m from the southern part of the Philippines,
23 and here’s my story…

PRE-DIAGNOSIS STAGE

March 2014, I decided to be admitted in nearest hospital due to my on-and-off fever, cough and difficulty in breathing lalo na during night time. Si mama and papa ang watchers ko, tila nag check-in lang kami sa isang hotel. Habang nasa hospital ako, series of diagnostic tests have been conducted. On my 2nd day being admitted, sabi ng attending physician ko my
The rest of the tests were OK lang daw. Agad-agad nag pa sputum test ako and it was found out negative. But based on her clinical assessment,  PTB+ daw ako. So isolated kaagad si ako (huhu) and pina inom na niya ako ng 4-n-1 anti-TB med and referred to Pulmonologist. Early morning on the ff day, nagpakilala si Doc Pulmo at ‘di na siya nagpa ligoy-ligoy pa na tinanong ako if I have
experienced SEX before. And I told him nothing but the truth. Pag alis niya, tumaas na  ang anxiety level ko, emo na ako, hindi na makatulog kasi iniisip ko na baka ito na yon the reaping season of what I’d done way back college days. My idea na kasi ako on what is really HIV because of the symposia I have been attended before.

On Oral Sex and HIV

Hi Pozzie,

Nuong May 31 2014 una kaming nag sex. I masturbated him again. The result is Non Reactive (Thank GOD). Here are my questions.

About Baseline Tests?

Hi!

Your blog is quite informative and I thank you for that it's a big help anyway,I was tested HIV reactive during my medical exam last two weeks ago and waiting for the confirmation from DOH. I just have some question regarding the Baseline Testing, first do I need to have an X-ray again, my last X-ray result is normal, last two weeks ago? second is it mandatory to have the PPD and sputum test?

Thank you!

Ron

My PLHIV Story: M.D., HIV and Me

Needs to Talk to Someone!

Hi!

I found out last year that i am hiv positive. My family knows about my current situation but I need people who are dealing with the same thing. Someone who fully understands what i'm going through right now.

Distance is an Issue
