Posted by Pozziepinoy on 9:51 AM

Good day, im planning to apply and work as a school teacher my restictions po ba yon kong Hiv positive tulad ko  hndi kaba tatanggapin kong positive ka ? or kahit anung work dito sa pilipinas required ba ung HiV test mahihirapan po ba kaming maghanap ng work even dito sa pilipinas?

POZZIEPINOY’S RESPONSE

Hi there.

Thank you for your email.

In general, there are no restrictions to employment for a PLHIV here in the Philippines. In the first place, HIV test is not required during any employment process as written in the HIV law. This means that nobody will know if you are HIV positive or not, unless you disclose it.

I have known a few school teachers who have HIV and despite the disease, they are still enjoying their lives and doing their passion of teaching and educating students.

So go ahead and apply. You don't have to worry anymore.

Must read:

RA 8504: Philippine AIDS Prevention and Control Act of 1998

I hope I was able to answer your concerns. Feel free to email me again if you have other questions.

Stay healthy,
