POZZIEPINOY'S RESPONSE

Hi XXX.

Thank you for your email.

The HIV medicines or ARV's are free in the Philippines in all the HIV/AIDS Treatment hubs. What one has to spend though are the:

a. baseline and succeeding lab tests
b. CD4 test and VL test
c. medicines for opportunistic infections
d. prophylaxis against opportunistic infections.

Almost all hubs provide the labs for a fee so best is to call the HIV/AIDS treatment hub so you will know the amount of the fees so you can be ready.

Regarding your next question, once you take the HIV test and the result turns out to be positive, you will be guided by the counselors and the doctor on what the next steps that you need to take for treatment.

I hope I was able to answer your concerns. Please feel free to email me again if you have other questions.

Stay healthy,
Pozziepinoy
