Email 522: Penile Discharge

Hi. Good evening.

You can call me john. 21 years old. I am a bit sexually active, but I frequently practice safe sex using a condom. But honestly, I tried doing bareback less than 10 times. I have never been tested for hiv due to I am afraid for any consequences.

And today, something happened. There is this yellow green discharge from my penis and when I urinate, there is mild hot feeling on the head of my penis. This is the first time for it to happened. I had bareback yesterday to be honest. I am a top.

I really panicked and I am very nervous right now. I am discreet and no one knows especially my sexual activities. I hope you can help me. I am afraid if my parents would find out.

thanks and hoping for your reply.

Life is Beautiful!

I had been meaning to articulate in writing how did my "hiv test experience" go but the emotional surge had been overwhelming such that almost always, I can't seem to find the right words to depict the "highest-rating-primetime-drama" of my life.

To begin with, I have always been informed about anything the tabloids and blogs have to offer. I make sure to read all sorts of social and socio-political issues hovering this planet almost everyday. Hence, I am not totally unaware of HIV. In fact, I had been updated with the soaring statistics the DOH has been publishing every month.

Through the years, I had been hearing and seeing campaigns on HIV testing, which, among others, encourage people to know their "status". Sadly, I didn't have the audacity to do it. More often, I found myself making justifications just not to succumb to what the advocacies were asking us to do. I told myself that I didn't need that for I always practice safe sex; or that condom has always been my best friend, thus I have nothing to be worried about; or my sexual partners were not that numerous for me to get paranoid about my "status".

My HIV Test Experience

Hi Pozziepinoy!

Una sa lahat thank you sa blog na ito at I decided to be tested...

It's almost 9 Months since my last encounter before I decided to get tested. Yes I'm adventurous and sometimes hindi gumagamit ng condom I got STI but then healed with the help of my professional doctor. Sobrang sakit at sobrang mahal ng medicine na nakuha ko sa unprotected sex na minuto lang ung tinagal, then a mount later may experience ulit with different partner. Napansin ko na medyo sakitin ako that time hindi ko alam kung sa
pagbago-bago ba ng panahon or If I am infected sa 1st or 2nd experience. I am so desperate ang daming what if's sa isip ko at I'm afraid to be tested. I texted the clinic for my appointment but the number is already changed. Sabi ko sa sarili ko gusto ko confidential sana at pupunta nalang ako sa clinic at test na, I visited the clinic almost 2 times wala dun ung medical technologist nila kaya bumalik-balik ako. Sabi ko sa sarili ko bago mag pa test I want to be a HIV advocate positive man or negative. At I want to be a advocate. Hindi naman natin kasalanan ang mga pangyayari nasa atin nalang kung pano tayo matututo sa mga pangyayari at bumangon ulit sa pagkaka dapa.

Alam mo ba ang status mo? Be Tested na din.

My PLHIV Story: HIV Stops With Me!

This is the first time im sharing my story to anyone, there are only two members of my family who knew about my case and sufferings, my aunts from my father side, even my parents are not aware of my case, i had plans to go abroad to seek a better future, i dont know but at the back of my mind there is this thinking that i might be positive of HIV then, until the time of my medical i was still very nervous, the more i became nervous when it took me a day to receive a call from my agency to confirm my tests, it took actually almost two days for them to call me, just to inform me that i have to go back to the diagnostic center for rechecking of HIV test, there i almost lost everything in my mind, i didnt tell anyone whats happening to me, i was just quiet, then i went to clinic for verification i
was so ashamed to enter the clinic for the second time, because i know there will be speculations about me the moment i sit on that chair, it was still good that the tech who took my sample was very optimistic in saying, "i should not worry because most of their clients turns negative", that helped me a lot, i  still have hope that it will then turn negative,
he even told me the result will be confidential i will be the one to open the envelope and read it myself, (3 weeks later, year 2012). I got the result i was looking at his desk he has around 3-4 envelops in his shelf, he took the first envelop its already opened I was dismayed, but the most heart breaking news is that i am HIV positive, i went out the clinic
hearing nothing , i dont even know if i checked the road before passing the next thing i know i was walking like DEAD. until i get the guts to tell to my aunt through messages i  didn't answer her calls. i dont know if can tell it personally to her, honestly i asked jesus why me? many times that night, i was feeling OK i didnt knew this is happening to me, ive been to a lot of churches praying for a miracle that i hope on my next test it will
turn negative, just for me not to lose hope. I got tested the second time, but the second test still took 3 weeks to release the result, i didnt go to the clinic to get my results i knew then that it is again positive. Since the day I've found out im positive, i promised to myself not to have sex to anyone anymore not until GOD will permit to do so, until when? I don't know only God knows.

Thank You!

Good day sir!

More power po sa inyo sir and may God bless you always.

Email 520: On Blood Bags for Transfusion

Dear Pozzie,

I need blood transfusions due to Anemia, TB and AIDS. Everytime I go to SLH I always require a minimum of 5 bags sometimes to 12 bags of blood transfused as my hemoglobin level dips really low. Someone has told me that there may be a limit to blood transfusions done. Is this true? I am scared to ask my physician. If it is, then I am done!

Email 519: Follow Up Question on PhilHealth

Hello.

This is in regards to "Email 518: Issue with PhilHealth Documents".  Just to clarify the second option you've given, do you mean I'll just register as a new member directly to PhilHealth without letting them know of my previous contributions? or will I tell them that I'll be converting from being an employed member to an individually paying member?

Thank you so much for your immediate response. I just feel too pressured right now since I'll be back again to my treatment hub for another refill.

God bless.

Email 518: Issue with PhilHealth Documents

Hello, I'm currently under maintenance after being diagnosed positive last January. I'm frustrated right now because RITM Alabang, which is my treatment hub, requires my philhealth documents including my certificate of contribution which should be requested from my company. However, my company won't release it without any medical reason and I don't want them to know what my current condition is. What should I do? Are there
any option for me? I badly need your immediate response. Thank you.
