POZZIEPINOY’S RESPONSE

Hi XXX.

Thank you for your email.

I know you are scared and confused and I understand your dilemma right now. Here's the thing. If you had unprotected sex prior to you having those symptoms, then it is a must that you take the HIV test ASAP to know the level of your immune system.

I can relate to your persistent cough though. I had mine before for 3 months too with chest pain and difficulty of breathing, I went to the ER of a hospital and I was given antibiotics too. I got well, however after 3 months, the coughing started again and I went back to the ER and was asked to take the HIV test. The rest was history.

My point here is that if you had unprotected sex before then you have to disclose that to your doctor since you are not getting better with the prescribed medicines. At least your doctor can rule out other causes of your infection by you disclosing fully to him or her your history. With regards to the rashes, it maybe related or not related to HIV at all since HIV symptoms are non specific. Like what I said, if you are suspecting that you have HIV then take the test fast.

You won't lose your family if you will get treatment fast. HIV can be treated if that really is your problem. However, if you already have other infections prior to HIV testing (in your case coughing ad rashes), of course that can be financially draining. So don't wait for al your symptoms to get worse. Get tested now.

I hope I was able to answer your concerns. Feel free to email me again if you have other questions.

Stay healthy,
Pozziepinoy
