Email 502: Needs A Support Group in Davao
Posted by Pozziepinoy on 7:23 PM
Its confirmed! I have HIV.
I took the test this morning then after 30mins or so I had the result that my antibodies has reacted to HIV virus. The nurse who was assigned to council me said that i still need to wait for their confirmatory result which will be coming from DOH. I guess i don't need to wait for that anymore. what i need most are the people who can understand me. Ive been asking from her if she could refer me to any support group she just told me to wait.

POZZIEPINOY’S RESPONSE
Hi XXX.
Thank you for your email. Thank you for sharing us the result of your HIV rapid test.
Although I agree with the nurse when she said that you really have to wait for the confirmatory test, however, if you think you need to talk to someone then, just do it. There is nothing wrong with that. It is easier to vent out your emotions and clear up your mind.
Please don't think that your condition will worsen or you will die during the short waiting period. Trust me, you won't, unless you have other symptoms of existing infections now, which you can get treatment, by just going to a doctor specialist. There is no worse scenario here, but it will exist if you allow your mind to govern your whole being.
If you need to talk to somebody, you can call Alagad Mindanao, c/o Ms. Lerio Chua at 0917-793-8624. You can also check out Mindanao AIDS Advocate, 557, Kamuning St. Juna Subdivision, Davao City, with email address, mindanaoadvocates@gmail.com .
(Special thanks to Jerson See and Jake Positive RN for these information).
I hope I was able to answer your concerns. Feel free to email me again if you have other questions.
Stay healthy,
Pozziepinoy
