I want to take the HIV test. I recently had a flu vaccination. Would this have any effect? If yes, how long should I wait?

Hi.

Thank you for your email.

The flu vaccine has no effect on the HIV test. There is no interaction between the two. The HIV test is very specific to the HIV antibodies nowadays, thus you can take the HIV test even after having the flu vaccination.
